Joyful Christmas 2

I was so busy yesterday I forgot to blog!  I have my very good friend Jackie round crafting, we both find it very relaxing and time just gets away with us lol.

Today I'm going to share with you another card using the Joyful Christmas stamp set.

I've used very vanilla card stock and burnished gold.  The poinsettia is stamped onto vellum with the white craft pad ink.  I added a brad which was from the spring mini and popped are large jewel in the middle, I had intended to pop on a Frosted Finishes flower but I couldn't find where I'd put them.  I also stamped part of the poinsettia in the corner in the new silver encore ink

I stamped a corner with with the sentiment that comes with the set again in the silver encore ink.

I then added some jewels to the corners to finish it off.

I'm Late! I'm Late! For a very important date!

I did feel very much like the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland today.  I had to meet my little brother in town for 9am after dropping scotty too hotty off at school at 8.30, problem being the traffic from my village to town in a morning is akin to being sat in a car park!!  I did make it though and I'm here to share another Christmas card with you.

This card uses the Lovely as a Tree stamp set.  I brought this set after seeing a really gorgeous card made with it.  Needless to say I didn't get round to making 'that' card and I've only used it once before making this one!!! I know terrible!!  This card was quite simple to make and there is a you tube tutorial for it here

I've tried to get the sparkle on the trees in this shot, I embossed them using some holographic embossing powder I have, it gives a real sparkle to the trees.  I don't think in the video she included a moon but this is simply done by just punching out a circle in scrap card and using it as a mask.

I finished the card off with one of those fabulous Frosted Finshes.  I must admit to not wanting to use these lol, I've made a batch of these cards but on the others I've added a sliver bow.  The sentiment on the card is from the More Merry Messages stamp set.

Joyful Christmas

I love this stamp set, just because you can do so many things with it.  I'm going to show you another 6 x 6 card using this stamp set

That poinsettia is just gorgeous!  Love it.  I stamped it out in versamark then I embossed it using some of the gold embossing powder,  but it works just as well if you stamp in the new gold ink pad if you don't want to go to the trouble of embossing it.  The verse is from More Merry Messages, this stamp set is lovely and has a few longer sentiments that can be used as verses inside your cards.  I've used very vanilla and burnished gold as the main colours on this card.

Here's a closer look at the verse which I stamped in soft suede.

Here's that lovely poinsettia I added a few pearls to the middle of it

A Spot of Christmas

Yes we were feeling a bit Christmasy in the Keating household this week with the cold, I've finally had to give in and put the heating on!! Not good.

So here's my little bit of Christmas to show you

I made this using the lovely new Festive Flurry stamps and framelets from the autumn/winter catalogue, even better you can buy these as part of a bundle and save money!!  I also used the new sliver encore ink pad, but I'm thinking I should have added some glitter to that top snowflake, what do you think?

The sentiment is from the teeny tiny sentiments stamp set and as you can see I've also used some of that lovely sliver glimmer paper.  The card by the way is a 6 x 6 inch.

A Card for Shelli

For those of you who don't know, Shelli Gardener is the CEO of Stampin up! She has recently been involved in quite a bad accident with her horse and is currently recuperating in hospital.  I thought I would send her a card and some well wishes.  You can do this too by sending your cards to stampin up head office in Utah America.

I decided to use the lovely Chalk Talk stamp set and framelets to make the card, and to also use the new In colours, which I love!

I've made it using Baked brown sugar and crisp cantaloupe.  It doesn't show it very well in the picture but the strip in the middle was cut using the new rotary trimmer and has a nice little wiggle on it.  I also went pearl mad on this card.  Here's a closer look.

OoooOOOO you can see the wiggle now lol. The sentiment comes in with the Chalk talk set and was punched out using the large oval punch.  Love it.

End of the holidays

And I really don't know what to do with myself, I've been used to having Scotty too Hotty here and now he's gone I'm finding it really hard to get back in my routine so please bear with me while I get back into the swing of things lol

Today I'm going to share with you some coasters I made using some tiles!! Yup you read that right tiles.  I have been after some really nice coasters for our dining room table but they all seem to be quite expensive for half way decent ones, so I set about making my own.

First I stamped out my design using the black stazon ink.  Here's a closer look

I then coloured these using the stampin write markers.  I then coated them with two thin layers of spray varnish and a layer of modge podge.  Here's the finished coaster,

I've popped some little pads on the bottom of each tile so they don't scratch the table.  I've used the papillon potpourri stamp set and crisp cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana In colours.  I'm gonna make some vintahe looking ones for my dad using the penny farthing from the Feeling Sentimental stamp set, that you may have gotten during Sale-a-bration.
